A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.

Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.

Environmental Bureau starts planning Wild Talks. A barriers analysis for participation is done, coupled with a brainstorm on how to engage people from outside our civil society networks.

We've meticulously selected a diverse cohort of 80 participants, each representing a mosaic of backgrounds and perspectives. From all corners of Europe, our attendees are united by a shared curiosity about the intersection of nature and biodiversity and the Green Transition. We've deliberately sought out citizens who may be new to EU processes, ensuring fresh perspectives and untapped potential for change. Participants are now under way booking their travel to Brussels.

Participants starts preparing through our online platform. They will read preparatory documents and has the possibility engage in discussions under the debate page. Participants also finalise and continue the preparations for their travel.

Participants come together to learn more about the Green Transition from a nature and biodiversity perspective. They will get to pick one topic to engage in: food and agriculture, chemical pollution, and big wildlife. The day will mix creative activities and storytelling with group exercises and discussions. At the end of the day, the groups will come together and shape key recommendations on these topics and how they relate to biodiversity and the Green Transition.

Organisers will tidy up the recommendations and insert them into an interactive online document.

The cleaned recommendations are shared with participants whom will have 2 weeks to give input and make edits.

We're flipping the script on traditional policy briefs, transforming recommendations into creative works and meaningful discussions. Our aim is clear: to create an innovative space for discussions and we will explore a future vision for nature and biodiversity, ensuring that EU policymakers hear our messages for change.
