A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.

Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.

Wild Talks

#wildtalks A citizens deliberation on the Green Transition

About this process

Help craft a future where people and nature thrive together

We're thrilled to invite you to our Wild Talks event, a pivotal event within the REAL DEAL project, aimed at amplifying the voices and experiences of people within the European Union.

Why It matters

At the heart of our deliberation lies a powerful mission: to reimagine the landscape of EU policy through the lens of biodiversity and nature. We refuse to accept the status quo, where non-human voices are marginalised amidst the urgency of the climate crisis. Instead, we champion a bold approach that acknowledges the interconnectedness of human life and natural ecosystems of in shaping our environmental reality. It's time to listen to each other, learn, and act.

What we will discuss

Prepare to be inspired and engaged as we dive into three key topics: food and agriculture, chemical pollution, and big wildlife. We're flipping the script on traditional policy briefs, transforming recommendations into creative works and meaningful discussions. Our aim is clear: to create an innovative space for discussions and we will explore a future vision for nature and biodiversity, ensuring that EU policymakers hear our messages for change.

Who is behind this initiative?

The European Environmental Bureau (EEB) and partners of the REAL DEAL consortium are proud to invite you to this event. Together, we're paving the way for a more just and sustainable future. The political choices taken today shape the course of history. With a new political mandate in the EU on the horizon, the EEB calls for an ambitious agenda towards a future where people thrive within the boundaries of our one healthy planet

It's time to come together, raise our voices, and carve out a future that's truly equitable and sustainable for all.

Together, we will create recommendations to shape the future of the green and just transition, join and help us make democracy stronger.
